WHAT WE OFFER:
HOW IT WORKS:
Step 1
Donor Selection: Identify cows with the most desirable traits & those who will make the greatest impact on the future of your operation. Then, contact a SVS Reproduction Team Member to coordinate donor protocol, recipient protocol and donor housing (if applicable).
Step 2
Conventional Flush or Ovum Pick-Up (OPU): After the donor has been selected, you will need to pick a method to retrieve the future embryos. SVS Repro offers both conventional flush and OPU technologies for bovine donors. Both techniques include super ovulation however, with conventional flushing the oocytes are fertilized inside of the cow. OPU is the non-invasive retrieval of unfertilized oocytes (OPU) and these oocytes will be fertilized in the laboratory..

Step 3
IVF Lab: The contents of your flush are transported to our partner, Boviteq, in Madison, Wisconsin where they are fertilized and cultured. Resulting embryos are then prepped for either fresh transfer into recipients or frozen for future use.
Step 4
Embryo Transfer: Select and prepare your recipient cows for embryo transfer. The team at SVS Repro can help you coordinate finding recipient herds or preparing your own herd for the embryo transfer process.

From start to finish, our process is focused on results, animal comfort, and your farm’s success.
